MIGH HCSO PROGRAMS
“Mentoring Moms” is a one of a kind re-entry
program offered to women
incarcerated in the Harris County Jail who are either expecting a child or have
a child under the age of 3 years old.
The program is designed to give these women the
skills and resources they will require upon their release to live as productive
members of society.
The Harris County
Sheriff’s Office has partnered with several organizations in the community.
This gives them the ability to break the cycles of behavior that have so many
of them returning to jails and other institutions throughout most of their
adult lives.
The “Mentoring Moms” re-entry program works by
offering the participants a unique opportunity to build the skills that will be
necessary for them to get back out into society and be a success.
